Haven and Carmine face seemingly insurmountable obstacles in this follow-up book.
“What do you do when the thing you want most suddenly feels like it’s beyond your fingertips?”
Carmine is such a strong, yet vulnerable character. He loves Haven so much. He does what he thinks is best for her without asking her what she wants. Afraid doing so would make him back down. He struggles with his decision through 80% of this book because he is miserable. He is so selfless.
“Time heals all wounds. Il tempo guarisce tutti mali. It’s been said time and time again, but what they don’t talk about are the jagged scars left behind.”
Haven tried to live life. She went to school, made friends. While she began to enjoy life a little, she was never really truly happy, because Carmine was not with her.
“He was her home. He always had been.”
I LOVED this book!!! I loved the angst, the writing, the characters. There isn’t one thing I didn’t like about it. I adored the ending. It was so sweet. Carrado was AWESOME! So was Kelsey and Gabe. I would love to read their books!
