I love him, from the instant I set eyes on him when I was just 11 years old I have loved him and nothing will ever change that, he owns me, he owns my heart and he owns my body and no matter how many lies are told, no matter how many people conspire to keep us apart, despite the fame and the distance, we will find a way.
“Georgia Rae, when we made love you used to cry”… He waits for me to sing my bit. I try to swallow down a sob but I just end up singing through it…
“I said I love you like the stars above, I’ll love you till I die”
Carnage, an edgy coming of age love story that breaks all the rules and transcends the decades. Georgia and Sean’s story will stay with you long after you read the final word.
An emotional, smoking hot, gut wrenching read
This book is for grown ups with an open mind. Sex, drugs and a little bit of rock n roll are involved. There may be tears. Tissues may be required. May contain triggers!
Heartbreaking, soul-crushing, gut-wrenching pain; once-in-life-time, earth shattering, butterfly releasing love. That is what Carnage is.
“I love you G, wherever I am in the world, whatever I’m doing, it will always be you, I’m yours, for as long as you want me, for as long as I’m good for you, I’m all yours.”
Lesley Jones has written a beautiful book that took me on an emotional ride. It was riveting. It was packed full of angst and happiness, humor and hotness. There wasn’t a moment of letdown. There were times when I had to set my iPad down to take a breath because I felt like I was running a marathon or needed to clear my eyes from my sobbing. I also wanted to throw it across the room!
Her writing style is such that the reader is catapulted into the lives of the characters. Character driven? This was character immersed! I was so far involved I didn’t want to sleep or eat! It has been a long time since I’ve read a book that kept me up all night, or made me not want to stop reading in order to eat.
To give too much information about the book would certainly ruin it for you. So I have to be vague.
Georgia (or George as she is also known) is the youngest and only girl of four kids. At 11-years-old, she meets her soul-mate, her youngest brother’s best friend, Sean (Maca) McCarthy.
“I was eleven years old, but I knew without a shadow of a doubt I was staring into the eyes of the boy I was going to love forever,”
What follows is a twenty-year span of an “all-consuming, obsessive, takes over every second of your life, kind of love” between two people that we all could only be lucky enough to find.
Was it easy?
“Even as he spoke I could feel the little man in my chest, with his trowel, his bricks and his little pile of cement, he was building a wall around my heart, to protect it from what was to come.”
Was it messy?
“Such an angry little kitten, with such sad eyes. Who hurt you Georgia? Who took the light out of those pretty blue eyes ehh?”
Was it true love?
“There’s only him, it will always be him, there’s no room for anyone else, … my heart is sealed and there’s only him that’s locked inside.”
Was it worth it?
“Georgia Rae, we made love you used to cry…”
“I said I love you like the stars above, I’ll love you till I die.”
This will be on my list of favorites for 2014, if not all-time! 5 stars are not enough for me. I cannot wait for the sequel. I will certainly stop everything and read it!
