I was happy in my small town. In my life as a single, thirty-two year old woman. I had a good job, wonderful friends, my independence.

I also hadn't got laid in three years. Hadn't been on a date in two. Had stopped counting calories and wearing makeup... a while ago.

Then Brett Jacobs waltzed in. Caressed my thigh, dug rough fingers into my hair, lowered his soft mouth to my skin, took sexual control of my mind and stirred it all around with what he packed in his pants. He flipped my quiet life upside down and crawled into a place in my heart I thought was dead.

The issue is his secret.

The issue is her.

The issue is that I don't even know she exists, and he thinks she's dead.

The issue is that shit is about to hit the fan and I can't hold on to him tight enough.

HOLY HELL! I absolutely loved this book! LOVED IT!!!

There are a couple of things I can be sure of when reading an AR Torre book,

1.) Not only will my limits be pushed, they will be exceeded

2.) I will encounter amazing writing

I love mysteries and I love romance, and when the two are intertwined into one book, I am in reading bliss! This is the third book I have read from this author and all have been 5 star reads for me, all have intrigued me, confused me, and completely messed with my mind! Just when you think you have the answer, you have IT figured out, Torre rips the ground from under you and shatters your thoughts.

Tight was no exception. First, the plot of this book caught me completely by surprise. I don’t know what I was expecting to read, but that wasn’t it.

*WARNING

This book is a bit different than my others.

It doesn’t follow quite the same formula.

It will take you to some edges, but I don’t push you over.

Promise

Ya, I was nervous when I read that warning at the beginning of this book. It was unsettling. I stuttered for a moment and didn’t turn the page. “What am I getting myself into?” But, her “promise” and previous work, helped me turn the page to the exquisite, mind f*ck that was before me.

Second, the story was told in dual POV and different time frames. Confusing? YA! But it was meant to be. The plot slowly unraveled, revealing the truths and situation in perfect timing. I was kept guessing, kept hoping, kept in awe of her talents.

Brett and Riley meet at the Atlantis in the Bahamas where she is vacationing for a bachelorette party and he is, well..

She had been gambling in the casino with her friends when the noise and crowd (and her aching feet) became too overwhelming and she decided to go back to her room.

(Although I am sure she left with more money than I did while vacationing there.)

(Yes, the casino bar was gorgeous!)

What happens from here, I am not going to say. I am not going to say anything more about the plot or story or characters. My recommendation is to read the blurb – and that’s it. Don’t be tempted by spoilers, they really WILL spoil this book. It is best to go in blind.

If you have not yet experienced Alessandra Torre, don’t delay. She is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!
