Our lives are a collection of moments. Some utterly painful and full of yesterday's hurts. Some beautifully hopeful and full of tomorrow's promises.
I’ve had many moments in my lifetime, moments that changed me, challenged me. Moments that scared me and engulfed me. However, the biggest ones—the most heartbreaking and breathtaking ones—all included him.
I was ten years old when I lost my voice. A piece of me was stolen away, and the only person who could truly hear my silence was Brooks Griffin. He was the light during my dark days, the promise of tomorrow, until tragedy found him. Tragedy that eventually drowned him in a sea of memories.
This is the story of a boy and girl who loved each other, but didn’t love themselves. A story of life and death. Of love and broken promises.
I was provided a review copy by Author; this did not influence my opinion of the book.

❝I’ll be your anchor. I’ll help you stay grounded when you feel like you’re drifting away.❞
With the 3rd book in The Elements Series, Brittainy C. Cherry immerses her readers in so much thought provoking angsty-goodness, that tears are sure to flow, while hearts and minds are being opened.
Hands down a favorite of the year, I read this in one sitting. Ignoring all things that needed to be tended to, I dove head first into the characters and story that Cherry created, and didn’t come up for air until after her author note.
❝Do you promise me the same type of love I’ve read about in my books?❞ He shook his head, yawning. His arms wrapped around me, pulling me closer as I became engulfed by his warmth. ❝No, Maggie May. I promise you so much more.❞
Once a gregarious and outgoing girl so full of life that she often annoyed those around her, Maggie Riley suddenly has her voice and security stripped from her. But always at her side, always willing to “listen to her silence”, was Brooks Griffin. His patience, love, and friendship help her heal.
❝I loved that about him. I loved how he could see me when the rest of the world forgot I existed.❞
It was this love that pulled her from the shadows and made her fight for him when his own troubles occurred pulling him under. The fierceness of her devotion shocking him into facing his fears.
This is a beautiful love story. It is about not taking situations or people at face value. It is about love so fierce, you will do anything to protect it and the one’s you love.
This author has an unforgettable talent. Her writing is breathtaking, her characters perfectly flawed and her stories are captivating. As with all her books, this story and these characters will stay with me long after I turn the last page.
❝A person never reads an outstanding book twice and walks away with the same beliefs. An outstanding book always surprises you and awakens you to new ideas, new ways of looking at the world, no matter how many times the words have been read.❞
