He puts the "screw" in screwball comedy...
BRYNN
At thirty-four, I’m reeling from a divorce. I don’t want to party or try to move on. I just want to stay home and post a new recipe on my blog: Brynn’s Dips and Balls.
But my friends aren’t having it. Get out there again, they say. It will be fun, they say. I’m still taking a hard pass.
Free designer cocktails, they say. And that’s a game-changer.
Too bad my ex shows up with his new arm candy. That’s when I lose my mind. But when my besties dare me to leap on the first single man I see, they don't expect me to actually go through with it.
TOM
All I need right now is some peace and quiet while my home renovation TV show is on hiatus. But when a curvy woman in a red wrap dress charges me like she’s a gymnast about to mount my high bar, all I can do is brace myself and catch her. What follows is the hottest experience of my adult life.
I want a repeat, but my flying Cinderella disappears immediately afterward. She doesn’t leave a glass slipper, either—just a pair of panties with chocolate bunnies printed on them.
I was provided a review copy by Rennie Road Books; this did not influence my opinion of the book.
I. Can’t. Stop. Smiling!
YOU GUYS, I loved this book! The banter is hilarious. The secondary characters are spectacular. The romance was sweet and the steam was perfect! The first thing I noticed about ‘Man Hands’ was the chapter headings, “I love Hardwood” and “Look at My Sausage”, just to name a few, were so clever and unique I knew I was in for a glorious ride,
Brynn’s marriage just ended and with that comes a load of self-doubt and feelings of worthlessness. But never fear her wonderfully supportive friends have fabulous advice and are not afraid to share.
❝No, as your therapist, I’m telling you from here on out, if you’re attracted to a guy, it’s a red flag.❞
❝Wait, you want me to f*ck someone unattractive?❞
❝No, babe,❞ Ash says. ❝You need to do the nasty with someone who isn’t your type. If your body is responding with all those whozits and whatsits, then you need to run away because your instinct is just plain wrong. You make bad choices.❞
At a party her friends dragged her to, Brynn does what any level-headed woman would. She throws herself at the Gardner. Literally. She jumps on him. Only the Gardner turned out to be the owner of the home.
Tom has taken a break from filming his Fixit show. He is still reeling from a humiliating breakup. All he wants to do is lick his wounds, figure out how things went wrong, and get his life and show back on track. But when he is attacked by a woman who provides him with the best sex he’s had in possibly his whole life, he finds himself embroiled in more than he bargained for. But, also, more than he could have hoped for.
This writing duo, Bowen, and Eby are kindred spirits. Together they created a sexy, funny and uplifting story. There was never a disconnect. The writing was seamless as if it was written by one person, not two. These two certainly have something here, and I cannot wait to read more, I hope the next book is of Braht and Ash because fireworks and a whole lot of laughter are sure to ensue.
