From the international bestselling author of The Simple Wild comes Forever Wild, a novella that continues the story of Calla’s journey to the Alaskan wild and a life she never imagined for herself.
The holiday season is upon Calla and Jonah, and with the mistletoe and gingerbread comes plenty of family drama. Jonah is bracing himself for two weeks with a stepfather he loathes, and while Calla is looking forward to her mother and Simon’s arrival, she dreads the continued pressure to set a date for their wedding … in Toronto. Add in one bullheaded neighbor’s unintentional meddling and another cantankerous neighbor’s own family strife, and Christmas in Trapper’s Crossing will be anything but simple.
I was provided a review copy; this did not influence my opinion of the book.
Story-telling and character development at its finest, this is where Tucker’s artistic abilities shine!
‘Forever Wild’ may have been a novella, but it was one heck of a great story. It’s Christmas time in Alaska, and what’s Christmas without family? Jonah’s mom (whom he hasn’t seen in many years) and step-dad (whom he loathes and argues with every chance he gets), Calla’s step-dad (whom she loves) along with her mom (who is a bit high maintenance), and Agnes and Mabel have flown in to join the family fun. A few of the neighbors have also joined the Christmas dinner festivities. There will be fighting, there will be loving, and a rescue mission pursued.
I was so excited that we got to read a wedding scene; all too often, stories with weddings chronicle the before and after, never sharing with the reader the excitement and dazzle of the day. So it was a great joy that Tucker gave us the nuptials of Jonah and Calla.
This series!!! It is simply lovely. Tenderhearted, funny, emotionally captivating, and just plain fun. I am invested in this series and hope it is a very, very long one!
