Raquel Ezra loves to fish. With so many fish in the sea, she’s never experienced a problem baiting the hook or reeling them in. Being one of Hollywood’s fastest rising stars means they always come to her with an idea of what to expect. She’s a good actress, she can be anyone’s fantasy for a single night as long as they agree to be hers. Which is why Raquel doesn’t think twice about spending an evening in nowhere Tennessee with a smokin’ hot, well-mannered, and intriguing sheriff’s deputy by the name of Jackson James.
One night? No strings? A sexy game of chess? No problem.
Except, when the time comes, Raquel discovers that reality might just be better than any fantasy, and maybe she’s not ready to release this catch.
JUST FOLKING AROUND is a 16k words, contemporary romance, and is the prequel to TOTALLY FOLKED, book #1 in the Good Folk: Modern Folktales series.

I was provided a review copy; this did not influence my opinion of the book.

This book gave me that oooey, gooey feel. Like, a chocolate lava molten cake, feel. As it bakes, you slowly watch it rise, and the smell wafts throughout your home, watering your taste buds, delighting your senses. This story reminds me of what happens right as you take it out of the oven. You know what greatness awaits you, and just as you put your fork to that lovely chocolate mountain, someone asks you a question taking your attention off of what’s awaiting you. You look back and forth, unsure of what comes next. You don’t want to be rude and ignore them, but you also don’t want to let the cake cool.

Your whistle has been whet, and it needs satisfying.

“I thought I could seduce him and keep things tidy, I thought I could be his fantasy, I thought I’d been in control. I was not in control. Whatever this was—this pull, this heat, and energy–I’d never felt anything like it. Not with anyone. He won. I surrendered.”

My whistle has been whet by “Just Folking Around”; it is Jackson James’ and Raquel Ezra’s back story, their ingredients that form the foundation of their molten-lava-cake-relationship. I cannot wait to bite into “Totally Folked”; I know it’s going to be delicious!
