I have had this sitting in my library for awhile. It was just sitting there, waiting for me to dive in and take a swim. I had been coming off a book HANGOVER like no other, and had attempted to read 3 books prior to this one. I guess it was the light from the cover that drew me in, that caused me to take the chance, whatever it was I am glad I did. I didn’t really know much about it. Because unless I know the reviewer will not give too much information about the book, I don’t tend […]
This book was a contradiction. It was dark, it was light. It was swoon-worthy and it had its cringe moments. It was about a deeply serious topic, yet there were moments I was literally laughing out loud. At age 14, while a freshman in high school, Jess Jordan attended a party. She got drunk, or was she drugged? Or both? She was almost raped. Now three years later, she’s suffering debilitating nightmares. Afraid to sleep, she’s living off of energy drinks and daytime power naps. She wants to be normal. She craves it. She thinks she’s getting there, almost. But […]
I LOVED this series! The writing was engaging, sexy, steamy, and funny as hell at times. I loved its simplicity and its complexity. Each book had plot twists that kept me guessing and made sure I was never bored. Characters explored love, hate, faith, loyalty, and experienced romance, violence, and even death. Each character had their own bit of crazy or “defect”, they weren’t perfect and I loved that. This book was the culmination of the ‘Rook and Ronin’ series. When all the past cons and lies come back to face the team they must fight to survive. Ronin still […]
“Want to know a secret?” *** “Sure,” *** “You’re my favorite four-letter word.” *** As always, these sisters blew me away with their talent and team work. I am simply astounded by it. This series has been a crazy, fun, emotional ride. And this addition is no exception. Hothouse Flower is as much a love story between Daisy and Ryke as it is between Ryke and Lo. Ryke explores and tries to strengthen his relationship with Lo. He feels immense guilt over having not been there for his brother from the moment he found out about him. Because he hated […]
