3 1/2 to 4 stars for this heart-wrenching tale of Tristan and Senia.
“You can’t let your past define your future.”
Tristan’s story was hard to read. He had a horrible childhood of abuse. I did not expect it. And to be honest, had I known, I’m not sure I would have read the book. That being said, his past lends insight into his behavior in Bring Me Home.
This is given in Tristan’s POV. It is about his relationship with Senia, the pending death of his grandmother, and being forced to face the abuse he suffered as a child.
“I am not broken.”
Tristan deals with so much tragedy in this book, that I was depressed reading it. It was obvious that Senia was what kept him going.
“I grab the back of her neck and pull her mouth against mine, swallowing her moans as if they were the air that kept me alive.”
This is an HEA, so I don’t want to discourage any readers. Trent is very swoon-worthy! Senia is a strong and supportive heroine.
