“I love that you love me, professor.”

“I love loving you, beauty.”

Since their intense, passionate beginning, Professor Dean West and his wife Olivia have fought dark secrets and betrayal in order to save their marriage. Now reeling in the aftermath of a personal tragedy, Liv and Dean are driven further apart by a vindictive threat to Dean’s career.

Struggling to stand on her own for the first time in years, Liv is determined to defend her husband and prove herself. Then an unexpected letter dredges up old insecurities and endangers Liv’s newfound independence. As Dean fights for his professional life, he is forced to confront his worst fear when he discovers that he can’t protect his beloved wife from her own painful past.

Wow, wow, wow! I am without words. I do not know how to describe how I feel about this book, the absolute beauty of it.

This series is one of my favorites of 2013, of all time! It is that good. The writing is spectacular! Nina Lane is an artist with her words. She is an exquisite story teller. She has an uncanny ability to make you see the brightness of colors, souls sprout wings and believe that if you love darn well great things can happen to you too.

This was the final book in the Spiral of Bliss Series. That makes me sad. For months I have been awaiting the release of this book and now that I’ve read it, I am realizing the story of the professor and the beauty is complete. My one consolation is that I can’t imagine a better ending to their story.

Nina begins with a touching dedication, which immediately set the tone for the book. Here’s a sample:

“This book is for those of you who know the courage it takes to trust your instincts and find your way. This is for the women who love being someone’s girl, and the men who are their heroes.”

Those two sentences encompassed this book.

Throughout the series Liv and Dean have struggled to come together as one, to push past their insecurities, to put aside their anger, and to trust in what they know to be true and right. The one thing they always held as truth was their love for each other, the rest they could figure out.

“I love that you love me, professor.”

“I love loving you, beauty.”

Liv and Dean remain fiercely protective of one another.

“I might not come out of this investigation alive.”

“Yes, you will. But I won’t be waiting for you when you do.”

“You won’t?

“No, I’ll be at your side.”

“Look, I’m not going to apologize anymore, Yes I want to protect you. You’re my wife. I’d fucking kill for you, Liv, and if that makes me a possessive bastard of a husband, then fine. That’s what I am. I’m not going to change either. I love you.”

Dean and Liv needed to learn how to navigate the world together without letting the world navigate them.

“But it’s easy when it’s just us, Liv you know? That’s why it’s always been so damn good.”

Liv needed to find herself. Dean fell in love with her backbone and she lost it along the way. She needed to discover who she was.

“Before Dean left, I told him that I desperately wanted to find a way to prove myself to myself. To be self-reliant and find my own path.”

This story was beautiful, HOT, holy cow there was steam!!! But it worked. The love was so strong, their vulnerable words would bring me to tears. Because the purest of love shows in our most vulnerable moments.

“I’m at your feet forever Olivia Rose,” I whispered the instant before our lips met. “I’ll move heaven and earth to give you whatever you want, whatever you need.”

This is a beautifully written, epic love story. That will have you swooning, crying, and yearning to be courted by your very own knight.

“Abstinence is actually part of the philosophy of courtly love, the knight suppresses his erotic longing in favor of exalting his lady’s soul and spirit.”

“Really! You think you can do that!”

“I’ll exalt your spirit, but there’s no chance in hell I’m suppressing my erotic longing for your body.”

“I love that you love me, professor.”

“I love loving you, beauty.”
