4 Star for Lovely Trigger (Tristan & Danika #3) by R.K. Lilley

‘Mine, my lips told her.’

‘Mine, my body told her,’

‘Mine, my heart cried out to her.’

Sad to see it end. Tristan and Danika have been a couple that have remained in my thoughts often. I’ve wondered how the author would end the series. It was good ending to a good series.

These two had been through so much trauma, had so many trust issues, that it was all I could do not to yell at them to move on and get their happy ending.

“Do you hear that?” he uttered quietly.

“Hear what?” I whispered back.

“It never stopped, did it?” he asked softly. “All this time. Years. And my heart is still beating in time with yours, still working, above all else, to keep that even pace. Fight it all you want, but our bodies betray our feelings”

Tristan came through the other side of addiction, while Danika still struggled to come to terms with her own pain. Yet, years apart were not enough to cool the fiery love between them. Danika’s trust issues with Tristan, and I think her perceptions of herself, kept her at a distance from him. He didn’t give up fighting for her.

“Is that how you felt about me? Were you trying to save me?”

“God no. You’ve got that so twisted. You were the one saving me. Always.”

Isn’t that what true love is, the one that we all search for? The kind that is so deep that you know you CAN’T live your life without that person? We should all be so lucky.
