I was reading another book when I read a posts like WHY AREN’T MORE PEOPLE READING THIS SERIES?!!! Well, that certainly had me intrigued. Once I finished my book, I read another blog post, this one beginning with: WOW!!! I HAVE FOUND A NEW FAVORITE SERIES!!! I knew instantly with these two reviews beginning this way I had to make Addicted to You my next book. I am so glad I did. I then read right into 1.5, Ricochet, and today, finished book 2, Addicted For Now.
Sometimes it is difficult for me to find the right words to review a book or a series. Sometimes that is because it just didn’t do it for me. Other times, like this one, the series had such a profound effect on me that words simply don’t come to my mind. This is the first time I have had to review a series rather than individual books because of that.
The writing is so good it is as if I am sitting down with these people and they are telling me their story. But also, the writing is so real and so easy I am carried away with the story. I am in the moment from start to finish. Really! There isn’t a moment that I question, “Is this what would have happened?” Nor did I ever, not even ONCE want to skim, skip, pass over one word. In fact there were times when I was reading so quickly I caught myself going back and re-reading because I missed some words. That’s how good this is.
The story of two addicted people struggling to find their way in life and with each other and within their families and friends is such a heavy subject that one would think the series would be heavy too, but it isn’t. With dialogue like:
“I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT LO. HE IS AS MUCH A PART OF ME AS THE SUN IS A PART OF THE SKY, AS THE EARTH IS TO THE UNIVERSE.”
My heart was melting and rooting for them the entire three books.
I know there are more plans for this series and I am anxious to read them. These authors are incredible!
