These Royals will ruin you.
Ever since Hartley Wright met Easton Royal, her life hasn’t been the same. There are enemies behind every corner and dangers beyond each door. When tragedy strikes and steals her memories, she can’t trust anyone, not even the blue-eyed boy who promises her that everything will be all right.
Because while Hartley’s memory is full of gaps, her instincts tell her Easton is dangerous. She doesn’t know if he’s the snake in the garden or her chance at salvation. The chaos he brings wherever he goes is too much to handle, the intense feelings he evokes are too confusing to unravel.
Easton wants her to remember. Hartley thinks it’s better to forget.
She might be right.
Tragedy. Treachery. Trust. Hartley has to face the facts—in this world, you can’t escape the Royals. Either you live by their rules or you die by them.
Review
❝I don’t need anything from you. You’ve caused me nothing but trouble from the moment I met you. All you do is break things.❞
Well, ladies and gents, the end is here. ‘Cracked Kingdom’ ends the Royals series. And in doing so, we end with the BEST ROYAL BROTHER, Easton! That’s right, I’m #teameaston All. The. Way!
❝I’ve been lonely since my mom died. I’ve been aching since my family divided itself into tribes that didn’t include me. I’ve been dying inside while trying to keep a smile on my face because I’m scared if I let that dark cold spread beyond the box I’m trying to keep it in, I’ll end up doing the same thing my mom did.❞
‘Cracked Kingdom’ picks up where ‘Fallen Heir’ left off. We find out which twin was injured and to what depths. Hartley suffers a head injury which causes her to lose her memory. The Royals are still out to settle the score with Steve, while Hartley wants her dad to face his crimes.
I quite enjoyed the first half of the book. I loved Hartley’s personality and appreciated her struggle as she learned to cope with her new reality. As well, I loved that these authors brought some humanity to Easton by showing us his vulnerability. The second half was different. Not sure exactly what, meaning I can’t necessarily name specific things that bothered me, just that it read differently.
I have loved this series. The authors have given their readers an intriguing serial as addictive as a nighttime soap opera. The characters are fabulous and I’m glad I met them. While I wish to know more about the twins, Val and even Callum!!! I appreciate the author’s decision to end the series (for now … we can only hope, right?)
❝He’s my sun, my warmth, my guiding star. My East. How I’m his soul, his purpose, his love. His Hart.❞
I’ve heard so much about this series lately because of this new release. Is it dark romance?
Hmm…I wonder if I experience the same, that it feels different to me. Lovely review, honey.

Thank you, Astrid !!! ?
@ARI, sorry, I didn’t see your questions! No, it isn’t dark romance. It is young adult with some new adult themes. It reminds me of a tv series that might be on a station like the CW.
